Happy New Year! We’re looking forward to 2012. It was a pretty good year at Rabbit Kastle.
We also want to say Happy Anniversary. Two days ago, on December 30th we celebrated our 3rd anniversary with our funny bunnies.
They were a little bit naughty, but in general quite delightful members of the warren. Inter-species communication continues to improve as the bunnies generally are well-behaved and rarely do things they aren’t supposed to do – like chew up the foam padding on my guitar stands. But cardboard chewing is up and wire and furniture chewing is on the decline. So overall these are good trends.
Hunny Bunny has come a long way from being the aloof and constantly frightened rabbit we adopted 3 years ago. Last year I feel we finally began to have real “dialogue” and she drastically reduced incidents of biting people – most importantly ME! this year, however, she has continued to open up emotionally. The first year with her she would rarely want to be pet or even sit near us. Now she feels comfortable enough to demand cuddle time from me several times a day. She loves to be pet now! She’s actually becoming quite spoiled with all the massages she gets. She’s become a very very sweet girl.
Their appetites for snacks is out of control. They feel so comfortable with us that they will hop up in our laps and beg for food. Otherwise they will not sit in our laps.
They continue to explore everything. They both make regular trips on top of their supply bin and try to get into it.
Rory occasionally follows me out the door in the morning. I don’t think he really wants to go to my office. But it would be awesome if he did!
Most of all, they continue to be little furry bursts of energy and joy. I look forward to what they will do this year!
